Craft Show & Open House Inventory.....in Progress

Working on some new items for the upcoming fall craft shows season.  I have one at Northmor School Nov. 5th and Christmas in the Valley in Bellville on Nov. 12.  I have never done back to back weekends, so this could get scary.  My 2nd Annual Sew Sweet Vintage Open House will probably be Dec. 1st and 2nd....but maybe the 8th and 9th...haven't decided yet.

First up is a grab and go First Aid kit....great to stick in a tote or diaper bag when going to the park, zoo or amusement park. Includes a pack of tissues and 4 band aids. It has a total of 12 pockets, so there plenty of room to add Neosporin, tweezers, Tylenol and such.  I am also including a small rice pack for home use that can be heated in the microwave or put in the freezer for boo boos....and isn't the nurse fabric the cutest!

I have a dozen of these packaged up and ready to go.

These are stackable fabric storage baskets. Great to keep you organized!

I may have to re-visit doing some aprons.  I did them for many years, but the interest seemed to die down a few years ago, so maybe it's time to bring them back.  Who doesn't love a cute apron! Here's a few a did awhile back:

I'm making progress on my microwave bowls.  I sold over 100 of them last year.  I have 32 done!

These are new this year....a zippered wristlet with a detachable key fob.

.
...and zippered pouches with a see a thru vinyl front and they come with a matching pocket tissue pack.

Also trying to use up some of the scrabble tiles I've been hoarding.  These can be used as coasters but will have a magnet on the back also.

Open House Displays

Here are some of the ways I display items for the open house.  I literally empty four rooms of my personal stuff (except for dishes in the cupboards) and use every inch of space for displaying handmade items, vintage finds and repurposed small furniture.

This was the sign in front for the open house

And this little beauty greeted people at the back door. She is so    pretty at night, all lit up!

I also thrift shop and display vintage items for sale along with
the handmade items.

These wool purses sold very well.
The are a loop handled wristlet....might revisit these this year.
Prim décor is really big around here, not really my taste, I prefer
more vintage items.

I took this green scale that I got at a garage sale and spray painted it white....see below...glad it didn't sell......I love it!

This was an old tool tote that I spray painted.  I kept this too!

Christmas pillow.  I printed this onto duck fabric on my printer!

Repurposed Shutter

I found this beautiful chippy shutter at a garage sale last year and decided today was the day to work some vintage magic on it.

I am in love with the dark teal chippy paint.  Some of the slats were missing, so I remove 3 more to make an even opening on each end.

Used my trusty staple gun to attach some chicken wire to the openings, added some saw tooth hangers to the back and called it done!

I was so happy that the shutter had a recessed framing on the back so it created a little "shelf" to display item on the top!

I added some items I had on hand....a Bingo card collage and an embellished vintage "Fortnightly Time Book" that I made and an old key.  The blocks on top that spell out "vintage" are from a complete alphabet set that belonged to my father-in-law when he was a little boy.  The baby shoes are also his.  The vintage photo is my mother-in-laws grandmother.   So happy with how it turned out.

Here are the before, during and after photos.

Spring Show 2015

Trying a spring show this year.  Since it will be close to Easter, I decided to do more paper crafts.  Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and general greeting cards.  I also made matching notebooks, manicure sets and gift card holders.

Grandma Ruth's Trunk

We found an old trunk at the farm after Grandma Ruth passed away. Someone had painted it dark brown!  I rescued it and painted it in Americana style to go with my décor at that time.   Since my decorating style has changed dramatically, I decided it needed a redo.....vintage style.   Spray paint, modge podge and scrapbook paper are wonderful things.  I began going thru my stash of scrapbook paper and came across a lot of sewing themed paper as well as Paris, and French word papers, so that is how I began.

Not hard work, but it was time consuming.  I work on this on and off for about 3 weekends or so.   I used vintage dictionary pages to line the inside.   I am really pleased how well it turned out.
